Worried About Economy, Gas Prices, Election, Life in General!

Psalm 121

A Pilgrim Song

1-2 I look up to the mountains; does my strength come from mountains?
No, my strength comes from God,
who made heaven, and earth, and mountains.

3-4 He won't let you stumble,
your Guardian God won't fall asleep.
Not on your life! Israel's
Guardian will never doze or sleep.

5-6 God's your Guardian,
right at your side to protect you—
Shielding you from sunstroke,
sheltering you from moonstroke.

7-8 God guards you from every evil,
he guards your very life.
He guards you when you leave and when you return,
he guards you now, he guards you always.

Verses

"Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him." (the message version - Anyone who meets a testing challenge head-on and manages to stick it out is mighty fortunate. For such persons loyally in love with God, the reward is life and more life) James 1:12

"The Lord is my strength and my shield, my heart trusts in him and I am helped. My heart leaps for joy and I will give thanks to him in song. Psalm 28:7

"Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. (the message version - Don't quit in hard times; pray all the harder) Romans 12:12

...being strengthened with all power so that you may have great endurance and patience and joyfully giving thanks to the Father who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. (the message version - We pray that you'll have the strength to stick it out over the long haul—not the grim strength of gritting your teeth but the glory-strength God gives. It is strength that endures the unendurable and spills over into joy, thanking the Father who makes us strong enough to take part in everything bright and beautiful that he has for us) Colossians 1:11

Therefore strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees make level paths for your feet so that the lame may not be disabled but rather healed. (message version - 13So don't sit around on your hands! No more dragging your feet! Clear the path for long-distance runners so no one will trip and fall, so no one will step in a hole and sprain an ankle. Help each other out. And run for it) Hebrews 12:12

Greenfield Village Field Trip

Anderson said he misses fields trips, so we took one today. The perks of homeschooling. Here are some pictures. Jack's first trip to Greenfield Village. He has his new sweater on. He looks so sweet. Look very closely. A little fall friend. My boys!!!

A few videos taken by Bill.

Anderson is soooo reckless in this video.

Rescued.

1 I waited patiently for the LORD;
he turned to me and heard my cry.

2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire;
he set my feet on a rock
and gave me a firm place to stand.

3 He put a new song in my mouth,
a hymn of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear
and put their trust in the LORD.

4 Blessed is the man
who makes the LORD his trust,
who does not look to the proud,
to those who turn aside to false gods. [a]

5 Many, O LORD my God,
are the wonders you have done.
The things you planned for us
no one can recount to you;
were I to speak and tell of them,
they would be too many to declare.

6 Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,
but my ears you have pierced [b] , [c] ;
burnt offerings and sin offerings
you did not require.

7 Then I said, "Here I am, I have come—
it is written about me in the scroll. [d]

8 I desire to do your will, O my God;
your law is within my heart."

9 I proclaim righteousness in the great assembly;
I do not seal my lips,
as you know, O LORD.

10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart;
I speak of your faithfulness and salvation.
I do not conceal your love and your truth
from the great assembly.

11 Do not withhold your mercy from me, O LORD;
may your love and your truth always protect me.

12 For troubles without number surround me;
my sins have overtaken me, and I cannot see.
They are more than the hairs of my head,
and my heart fails within me.

13 Be pleased, O LORD, to save me;
O LORD, come quickly to help me.

14 May all who seek to take my life
be put to shame and confusion;
may all who desire my ruin
be turned back in disgrace.

15 May those who say to me, "Aha! Aha!"
be appalled at their own shame.

16 But may all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you;
may those who love your salvation always say,
"The LORD be exalted!"

17 Yet I am poor and needy;
may the Lord think of me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
O my God, do not delay.

One Year Today

I believe it has been one year today that Bill adopted the kids. Now here we sit with one of our own as well.

Here is a pic of the beautiful flowers my parents sent to him at work congratulating him on being a new Daddy.

The best gift.

I tried to get out of the house with the kids tonight (which did not go so well with fussy Jack). We went to visit a good friend. She had a gift for Jack...the most adorable, special gift. This will definitely be kept around for when Jack gets older. She is very talented. I love how the hood comes to a point with a big tassle on it. I wish I could knit like this.

Today

Today has been a better day. I have been listening to hymns and cooking. Made Chili, Bread, Hamburger Soup. Still have to make baked oatmeal to last through the week for breakfast. Some thoughts I am trying to keep my mind focused on.

What a friend we have in Jesus,
All our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilage to carry
Ev'rything to God in prayer!
Oh, what peace we often forfeit,
Oh what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry
Ev'rything to God in prayer!

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged,
Take it to the Lord in prayer:
Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus Knows our every weakness,
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden,
Cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Saviour, still our refuge;
Take it to the Lord in prayer:
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee?
Take it to the Lord in prayer;
In His arms He'll take and shield thee;
Thou wilt find a solace there.

I am weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care. I need to remember he is still my refuge and pray to him. I need to feel shielded in his arms and find solace..even in the midst of my crying baby who is in pain. We should never be discouraged. When I am alone, he is my friend, he is my partner. I have been forfeiting my peace and withstanding needless pain...because I have not carried it all to him in prayer. I love that song.

He’s fairer than lilies of rarest bloom;
He’s sweeter than honey from out of the comb;
He’s all that my hungering spirit needs,
I’d rather have Jesus and let Him lead.

I would rather have Jesus!!!

and last but not least.....

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
when sorrows like sea billows roll;
whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul.

Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
let this blest assurance control,
that Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
and hath shed his own blood for my soul.

It is well with my soul,
it is well, it is well with my soul.

Whatever my lot Lord, thou hast taught me to say...It IS well with my soul.

Just some thoughts from my Sunday afternoon. I was not able to go to church again this Sunday due to Jack not feeling well.

I ended up catching The Winning Walk on t.v. and he was talking about wives and submission. It was really eye opening for me. I have a lot of work to do on myself.

I am stumbling along FAITHFULLY.......

Saturday, October 4, 2008

This was a rare moment with Jack. Life has been quite difficult for him for the past 2 months as well as for us. I hope to see more glimmers like this one. Right now it is a very lonely spot to be in having a baby with reflux. A lot of the time he cries...or most of the time he cries. I am unable to shower or do the things that I used to do on a daily basis. Most of the time he needs to be held. I feel like people just don't understand. It is not as simple as people make it out to be. The lack of understanding just puts you as the caregiver deeper in depression. I try not to feel sorry for myself or cry about it as I know this time is supposed to be a joyful one. I was on cloud nine during my pregnancy only to have all this come about. It is a serious shock to both my husband and I. My other children don't get the attention they need or deserve. My relationship is suffering tremendously. We are struggling financially because I had to go part time to care for the baby and even then it seems like I should not be working at all because I cannot get him to sleep until midnight most nights and then I am up to work for 4:30. Most days I can handle things because I have Bill home, but on the days he works two jobs it is pure hell. Soon he will be working four days with both jobs and I will be alone. I try to draw on my faith, but even my relationship with God which was so meaningful during my whole pregnancy is suffering because there is no room for anything in my weary head. I wonder when this will get better. I hope soon, because I really don't know how much more I can take. I believe this is honestly the hardest thing I have been through in my entire life and I have had some hard things happen, but somehow this takes the cake. I hope we will end up okay in the end.
